IMW Awarded Again
For the second time since 2004, IMW Industries of Chilliwack, BC, Canada took home the Manufacturer of the Year award at the BC Export Awards, held on November 23 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver.
"Exporters recognized by the BC Export Awards over the past 25 years have led the expansion of the BC economy into new markets," said Werner Knittel, Vice President of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), BC Division. “All of the 2007 winners and nominees have made a tremendous contribution to our economy, and are recognized today for their entrepreneurialism and commitment.” IMW has experienced significant growth over the past year, doubling their workforce and building a new factory to accommodate their increased production.
As the only Canadian manufacturer of compressed natural gas (CNG) fuelling systems, IMW continues to develop superior technology and resources to meet the growing worldwide demand for cleaner vehicle fuels. “Most people are unaware that Canada is a world leader in alternate fuel technology,” commented Brad Miller, IMW President. "Our products greatly impact the global reduction of greenhouse gases, and we value the support IMW receives from world markets."
The BC Export Awards ceremony marked its 25th year in 2007 and is the oldest of its kind in Canada. The awards are co-hosted by the Government of British Columbia and the BC Division of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), which accounts for an estimated 75% of total manufacturing production and 90% of Canada’s exports.
